01 Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") regarding StartupDeal Records has been prepared by "StartupDeal Technology Investment and Consultancy Inc." ("Company") as the data controller, in accordance with Article 10 of the Law on Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK") and the Communiqué on the Principles and Procedures to be Followed in Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform. It outlines the principles regarding the processing of your personal data in the context specified below.
02 Processes Where Personal Data Is Processed and Purposes of Processing
Your personal data, detailed in Article 3 of this Policy, is processed for the purpose of creating a database regarding the Company's activities, systematically collecting information on relevant startups, and sharing it with the persons specified in Article 6 for the purposes stated therein. If it becomes necessary to process your personal data for purposes other than those listed, you will be informed of the new data processing purpose.
03 Processed Personal Data and Data Categories
In the context of the process mentioned above, the Company processes the following data:
- Identity Category: Your name, surname, and the name of the startup you are associated with, and, if applicable, the names of team members.
- Contact Category: Your email address, country, city information, the website of the startup you are associated with, and, if applicable, the email addresses of team members.
- Finance Category: Your shareholding ratio in the associated startup and, if applicable, the shareholding ratios of team members.
- Other Information: Your role within the associated startup and, if applicable, the roles of team members.
04 Methods of Collecting Personal Data and Conditions for Processing / Legal Bases for Data Processing
Your personal data is collected directly from you and processed through fully automated methods. Your personal data mentioned in this Policy is processed based on the legal grounds specified in Article 5/2(e) of the KVKK ("the necessity of processing data for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right") and Article 5/2(f) ("the necessity of processing for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject").
05 Withdrawal of Consent
If your personal data is being processed based on your explicit consent, that consent remains valid until you withdraw it in writing. You may withdraw your consent at any time by notifying us in writing. Unless there is a legal regulation or legal obligation requiring otherwise, we will stop processing the personal data based on your consent from the date we receive your withdrawal request.
06 Transfer of Personal Data to Third Parties Located Within the Country
Your personal data processed within the scope of the above-mentioned process may be shared with:
- The organizations, institutions, or private legal entities the Company cooperates with, to provide information for shaping activities such as investment decisions or program processes.
- Trainers and mentors assigned to provide consultancy to the associated startup under the relevant program.
07 Transfer of Personal Data Abroad
Your personal data may be transferred abroad to a foreign-based company providing hosting services for the Company's website, solely for the purpose of effectively carrying out the Company's business activities.
08 Your Rights Under KVKK
According to Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, request information about it, learn whether it is used in accordance with its purpose, know third parties to whom your data is transferred domestically or abroad, request correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or incorrectly processed, and request the notification of this correction to third parties to whom your data has been transferred. Additionally, you can request the deletion or destruction of your personal data if the reasons for its processing no longer exist, and request the notification of this action to third parties to whom your data has been transferred. You may also object to any negative consequences arising from the exclusive analysis of your data by automated systems, and request compensation for any damage incurred due to unlawful processing of your personal data.
You can submit your requests and complaints regarding the above-mentioned rights by completing the Data Subject (Related Person) Application Form available on the Company's website at https://startupdeal.co/, and send it to the address "Mustafa Kemal Mah., 2127. Cd No:9/1, 06530 Çankaya/Ankara" by post, or via the email address registered in the Company's system to [email protected]. Your request will be responded to within 30 (thirty) days. If the processing requires additional costs, the Company may charge a fee as per the tariff set by the Personal Data Protection Board.
09 Protection of Your Personal Data
The Company takes necessary administrative and technical measures to ensure the security of your personal data and to prevent unauthorized access, collection, disclosure, use, copying, or alteration of your data. However, we remind you that no internet-based data transfer or electronically stored data is completely secure. While the Company takes necessary security precautions, complete data security cannot be guaranteed.
10 Accuracy and Updating of Your Personal Data
We assume that the personal data collected by the Company is accurate and up to date. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and currency of your personal data, and for informing us in writing of any changes to your data to help us maintain its accuracy.
11 Storage Period for Personal Data
Your personal data is stored only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as legally required by applicable laws. Once the purpose for collecting your personal data no longer exists or the legal obligation to retain it ends, your personal data will be destroyed.
