Problem
Current manufacturing of prosthetic sockets involves measuring the dimensions of the injured limb manually by a healthcare professional and manufacturing trial sockets (prototypes) to tune the design before producing the final prosthetic to fit the dimensions of the injured limb. This process can be quite costly and time-consuming since it would require multiple steps towards the final product involving the patients being physically present in the clinic multiple times to try the trial prototype

Our solution would involve using advanced 3D scanning to measure the precise profile and dimensions of the patient's limb. This can be overlapped with a 3D scan of the healthy limb to generate a model of the injured limb resembling that of the healthy one. This generated model is later used to fabricate the final model by implementing additive manufacturing technologies to 3D print the relevant socket and prosthetic casing which can fit the precise geometry of the patient's limb.
