Problem
Diabetes is a global pandemic and it became the top 10 fatal disease in the world. There are 420M diabetic people in the world and this number is expected to rise to 640M until 2040. According to WHO, high blood glucose levels solely cause death around 3.4M people annually, and this number is approxiamtely 627k in EU. The main reason of this problem is that people can not monitor their blood glucose levels frequently due to the pain and cost of existing solutions.
Çözüm
We are developing sweat based glucose monitoring device that can measure glucose values in painless and continuous way. Our sensor allow multiple measurements (70 measurements/sensor) with high accuracy of 93% and the sensor technology we established makes it affordable (total cost 700TL/year). Our system reduces cost around 50% compared to traditional blood glucose meters. Also, as device makes measurements from sweat, it reduces pain by 100% associated with finger-prick methods.
