Skilled maintenance and assembly work routinely happens where the operator cannot see. A pressure vessel, a pump casing, a manifold or an aircraft pylon is accessed through a port too small for a person's head the hand fits, the line of sight does not. The operator then works by feel: searching for the feature, positioning the part blind, pulling back out to reposition the body, and reaching in again until it seats. The time is lost in the search and the positioning, not in the actual fastening or inspection. The alternatives are all costly. Entering the space requires a permit, gas testing, a standby attendant and often scaffolding. Cutting a larger access opening trades away structural strength. A held endoscope occupies one of the two hands the job requires. And because the operation is done by feel, it produces no record the result is written up afterwards from recollection.
SULTEK OPTICALS replaces blind reach with direct sight. A camera mounted on the wrist, with its own LED illumination, sees exactly what the hand is doing deep inside the structure. The feed streams into smart glasses in the operator's line of vision, so nothing has to be held and no repositioning of the head or body is needed. Thumb gestures aim and operate the camera without letting go of the work. The result is that operations currently done by touch become operations done by sight, with both hands on the task and each session leaves a captured video record attached to the asset instead of a line in a logbook.
