Problem
The biggest problem is lignin and ethanol.We will produce lignin and ethanol at the same time in xylitol production.For fermentation, again commercial starter cultures will be used for product conversion (e.g. Pichia and Candida yeasts for Xylose to Xylitol and S. cerevisiae yeast for glucose to Ethanol), but specific species will be selected after industrial consultancy and Pre-laboratory work with standard sugars. For Xylose to Xylitol fermentation, we have considered using C. guilliermondii.
Çözüm
After sun-drying, Lignin can be used as fuel in the boiler for steam production, In the start, we can sell lignin-based dry residues to livestock or chicken industry for bedding. We are planning to use ethanol for lower electicity costs. Our main focus is to manufacture xylitol, but in order to get maximum profit with little and economical efforts, we have thought of Ethanol production.We can also manufacture Glucose syrup instead as a byproduct.
