Small manufacturers depend on employees to perform repetitive machine-tending tasks such as opening equipment, loading or unloading components and restarting production cycles. Conventional industrial robotic cells are too expensive and require specialist integrators, custom programming and lengthy deployment. As a result, machines remain idle when operators are unavailable, particularly overnight and on weekends.
YUKI provides an affordable, modular robot that travels along a rail and performs repetitive machine-tending and light material-handling operations across multiple machines. Camera-based positioning compensates for equipment displacement, while interchangeable tooling and teach-by-demonstration simplify adaptation to different tasks. The functional prototype already demonstrates autonomous printer localisation, door operation and build-plate handling.
